Dames XV – LSRG Dames 1
Besides the regular training sessions and matches, the ladies are also present at many social and sporting activities. For instance, outside the regular match season, you can find the ladies at one of the many (inter)national (student) rugby tournaments (Ameland Beach Rugby Festival, Flanders Open Rugby, BrigandZe, Amsterdam 7s).
The great thing about rugby is that there is room in a team for every type of athlete. Whether you are small or big, fast or strong, heavy or a lightweight, there is always a suitable position for you! Our team consists of internationals as well as young students and ladies who have just graduated, with different athletes at different levels (just starting out to former premier league). Are you open to a new (sports) experience and do you like a challenge? Come and train with us!
Tuesdays we train at 19:15 and Thursdays at 20:15 @University Sports Centre (Einsteinweg 6)
You can sign up by contacting lsrgdames@gmail.com.
Coaches
Dominique Danton
Dominique is the mastermind behind the DXV's tactics and style of play. As a former player, with experience at several rugby clubs and trainer at Rugby Netherlands, Dominique is always up to date with the latest rules, smartest tactics, and most effective drills. In addition, Dominique is always developing himself, which then helps him with coaching, tactical insight and communication. Dominique his coaching does not just stick to the physical game, but definitely includes a big piece of mental tactics as well.
Désirée van Teijlingen
As an assistant coach, Désirée is ready to provide the ladies with the necessary strength and conditioning. Her tabatha's are feared but also greatly appreciated. With her experience as a scrum-half, she knows exactly how to teach players to throw tight passes and tackle low. In addition, Désirée has a great knowledge of the basics of rugby, allowing her to get new members rugby ready in no time!
Iris van Gorp
As a player-coach, Iris has an important role both during training and matches. After quite a few years on the pitch, and as co-founder of the women's team, she has now made it her job to pass on her knowledge. Iris is currently following a her trainer course and is now focusing mainly on the various skills of the forwards.
