RUGBY IS A HOOLIGAN SPORT PLAYED BY GENTLEMEN
A sport that has come from the British Isles and managed to establish itself in the Dutch sports world. Especially as a Student sport. Respecting the referee, opponent and each other, two teams, each with 15 players, play against each other for 80 minutes. On the pitch, there is room for everyone: tall, short, big, small, fast and agile or just a little slower and well-thought-out.
Leidsch Studenten Rugby Gezelschap currently has two men's and one women's team and is always looking for new players. Former rugby experience is really not necessary. Even though rugby is a tactical game, the basics are quick and easy to learn.
Outside trainings and matches, the Leiden Students also have a social side. Players form close friendships and also regularly see each other off the pitch. Also, the Third Half at The Duke of Oz is a much appreciated part of our rugby week.
